I'm rather surprised to find out that the Singapore office does not notify applicants of the decision through email, which is probably the easiest and fastest way. Instead, it has to be sent via snail mail.

Just wondering, is it normal that I didn't get a "passport request" email? I wrote in to ask after the normal 2 week processing time frame and got a reply saying they only send letters.

Is this a bad sign or S.O.P?

They`ve told you they only notify by regular mail, that to me means SOPs. How you receive it does not matter because the decision will be what it is.

To reply to a member's private message which I'm unable to reply, I applied by paper and received by the SGVO on 10 Jul. My earlier application (May/Jun) got refused.

So, it's normal that I won't receive a "passport request" which is always mentioned elsewhere in the forum?
