Hello. I live in India.
I'm going through the process of preparing for my study in Canada in the January intake, I've paid my fees from partially an education loan and with the help of my parents. Soon I'll be doing the GIC process. however I heard that even after the GIC has been done, the visa application requires an affidavit of support showing my parent's financial support toward me.
Is this absolutely necessary? Will GIC not cover what this affidavit will be covering? #VeryConfused

No not necessary.... I got my visa in just 20 days for January intake canada only based on gic and one year tution fee.

did you submit any other financial documents aside from tuition receipt and gic? thanks in advance

well, there are no two similar application even if the submitted documents are almost the same. Its advisable to include it if its part of the requirements especially when you have little faith about the soon to be submitted app, all the same, have seen an approval with just the GIC + tuition fees receipt. Good luck

Thank you everyone for the reply. It helped me.
Now i'm on to the GIC process. Going to do some reading about how its done and everything else.
