6 band is OK i feel.... You might get admission in some university .... However, for colleges, it is more than OK i believe...!

You should retake the test if you HAVE to. If this clears your college/university requirement then why would you retake the test?
SPP College checklist states: "IELTS test results taken within last 24 months with overall band not less than 6.0" you clear this obstacle.
