Irish working in london or any where outside Ireland (working holiday visa)

i am Irish and ive been working in london for six years but want to move to canada in the next year. can i get a working holiday visa???
ive been told by some people i cant due to the fact i haven't lived in Ireland for so long. is this true!! what are my other options that wont cost me a fortune before i even get there.can anyone help!!

No, you would have to have lived in Ireland for 18 months in the past 3 years. "habitual residence" for IEC. You would have to find an employer with an approved LMO, before you could apply for a work permit.
