Hi All,
I am moving to Canada this May on PR by Express entry. I have to invite my mother (73 years) to Canada to live along with me. I have following questions in this regards -
1. What are the short term and long term visa options do I have for her?
2. What is the best time to apply? right now or after I move to Canada?
3. If someone was previously in the same boat ? appreciate contact information- so I can email them personally for guidance regarding the same.

Thanks always!
Regards,
Suraj

This is a not a family sponsorship issue because you cannot sponsor her to live in Canada. Ask further questions under Visitor visa.
1. She cannot live in Canada. She can apply for a TRV based on her own funds, ties to return, travel history. A TRV allows her to stay up to 6 months.
2. Once you have settled in Canada and meet LICO after filing taxes, she can apply for a supervisa to stay for a longer period of time. She has no access to health/social services so she needs to pass a medical and show health insurance.

1. TRV is the only option right now. This allows her to visit short term.
2. 6-8 months after you have moved to Canada.

If you need to live with your mother moving to Canada is probably not a good option. Parent sponsorship is not guaranteed and there is extremely high demand for limited spots. A TRV is not guaranteed especially before you have established yourself in Canada. If there are any concerns she is trying to move with you to Canada she will be denied a TRV or entry to Canada even with an approved TRV.
