Hi I am inviting my boyfriend to visit Canada within the next year for 3 months. I have done plenty and plenty of research and so far have created a great file. He has his own property, he has a stable job to go back to, he has money in a bank account as well. Obviously, he is single and does not have kids. For the duration of his stay he will be staying with me and my family in our house, I still live at home because I am only 22, my boyfriend is 24. My father is also co-signing the invitation with me as well, and helping support him for the duration of his stay. I am slowly going through the process of all this and I am wondering if anyone has had any experiences they would like to share about the topic. Any experiences and comments would help :)

Let me tell you IT IS A CHALLENGE. But let me tell you from personal experience...getting a visitors visa issued by the Canadian Governement is REALLY hard. My husband and I tried only once to get him to come for a visit and it was NO! And he met other people in line who attempted to apply for a visitors visa several times and were denied. Maybe in the future when more Cubans do not defect..then Canada will trust them a little more. Canada is afraid they will come here and stay even when the person inviting has money in the bank and enough money to cover all travel costs. They say they want to see sufficiant funds in the cubans bank account to pay for their own travels or have travelled to other countries and returned. I suggest you get your boyfriend to have his employer write a letter stating he has a job to return to and his bank to give him a letter as proof of funds and anything else that will prove that he will return to Cuba. I would request a shorter visit time as well as three months may be a red flag.
