Hello everyone, I need to wait for 2 years more to be eligible to sponsor my girlfriend back home due to the 5-year sponsorship bar. Could you please advise me which is the best way to bring her here for temporary (like the visitor visa)?

Any idea/opinion/suggestion is really appreciated.

There's really no way for you to bring her. She needs to qualify on her own.

A TRV is one option if she wants to visit temporarily. She will want to show strong ties to her home country and proof that she can cover the costs of the trip.

Another option would be a study permit. This is much more expensive and she would need to show she has a bank balance of at least $25,000 for the study permit to be approved. She would also need to make sure the full time program she plans to take in Canada makes sense based on her previous education and work experience. It should show a progression in her studies.

Lastly there is the work permit option. Probably the hardest. She would need to secure a job offer in Canada and her employer in Canada would need to obtain an approved LMIA. Generally very difficult to find employers who will do this.

Thank you so much, Scylla! Is it difficult to apply for TRV by myself or do I need a lawyer for that?
You do not need a lawyer. Very easy to do it yourself. Suggest you dedicate time to reading through the discussions in the Visitors section of the forum to understand how to put together a strong application.

Would warn you that there is a good chance she won’t be able to remain in Canada as a visitor until she gets PR.

Hi Friends,
I am also in the same boat waiting for sponsorship ban to completed. In my case invited my girl friend as family friend and she got visa approved. Now after landing planning to marry in canada. After marriage in canada, i am hoping POE will not bother her while visiting canada till my sponsorship ban is completed. Any thoughts, please share. Thanks!

As long as she spends more time outside of Canada than inside of Canada in any 12 month period and has a return ticket each time she enters Canada, she shouldn't have any issues.
