Hi. I am confused. I am planning a vacation to Toronto and staying in a hotel. The IRCC is asking for an invitation letter but of course I will not have one as I do not have family/ friends there. Help!

Did you specify a tourist reason for visit or a business reason for visit?

I specified tourism as the reason and from the application form and family form it would be clear that I do not have family/ friends there

What specifically did they say in the information/document request?

'Invitation Letter' is among the documents on my document checklist for me to upload and it is stated as a required document. But how can I get an invitation letter if I am not visiting any persons? I already uploaded my flight, hotel and activity itinerary.

If it is on your online application checklist as a required item, then you have indicated in the questionnaire that you have a family visit purpose, a business purpose, or another purpose that requires an invitation letter.
