Hi everyone. My wife in the Dominican Republic just had her interview at the Embassy in Santo Domingo on Monday. The interviewer asked her a bunch of questions and took the Schedule A and Additional Family Info forms, but gave back my wife the other papers, like photos, chat and call logs, income support etc)
She also gave my wife her passport back, and told her they will contact her in the coming weeks.
What should me and wife and expect out of this? Is this the usual protocol?
Anyone here have the same experience?
How long did you have to wait for a response?

Dave

Hmmm
My husband is dominican and got his approval at the interview.
You should get an arrival services email and another for her passport request in
few days unless Rejected. They always review the schedule A (where u lived and worked last 10 yrs)
And they also always give back the files.

Man i dont know why they didnt give her the decision on the spot!?

You should join the dominicano spouse fbook groups lots of help there too

Now you got me worried.Yeah I was wondering the same why they didn’t accept her on the spot.
All they said was that they were going to contact her in the coming weeks.I will check out that page thanks.

Anyone else have any inputs on this????

My wife said the interviewer was kind to her and asked her basic questions. She did ask her why I didn’t go visit her more often.
I don’t know if that’s a red flag.

I’m still going through the process and my husband is in the Dominican Republic as well. We’re you there at the interview? If not did they call you ? I have heard in the past that they call the sponsor if unable to be there . What sort of questions did they ask your wife?
Do you feel you have any red flags ? And if so did you overcome them in the application or the interview?

They didn’t call me at all.I waited for the call, around the time my wife got interviewed, but my phone did not ring at all.
I’m wondering if they were more concerned about my wife, rather than me.
I don’t think there were any red flags. The only one I can think of is that I perhaps didn’t visit as much.

Ok well this red flag can be explained , did your wife explain the reasons why you only visited twice. And most important did you address it in the application .

I told my wife to tell that my job only gives us vacation time once a year. She also told them I was planning on going this year.

I also think that you should order your notes to see exactly what was said in the interview as well as what concerns (if any) the officer had . These take 30 days to receive, however you will find out what’s going on
