Just take it cool.Assume that you're into a normal ask and answer room session.Since you already suspect that the CIC could be doubting your work status, then carry all the documentation pertaining to your work.Originals will be very good that is incase you have them.Good Luck!

Check out the interview preparation thread. I have added my experience about the interview I went for on 3rd December.

If you think the main doubt is because of you working in your real brother's company then you need to have documents to prove that you ARE actually employed there. So, now think what you will need to prove that? Appointment letter, SALARY SLIPS, Form 16(A)s & IT Returns, Bank account statement showing the salary being deposited in your bank, your experience letter, the person you are reporting to - his business card & contact details.

Along with these always take ALL the documents related to your file - Educational, professional, etc etc. Be ready for every possible question related to anything. If I can think of anything else, I'll add here.

All the best to you :) !!! If you have all the things truthfully, you don't need to worry even a bit.

hey guys thank u so much 4 ur wishes & suggestions
to nit4canada &rocky i havnt recd any mail or email from them but in my ecas one more line is added INTERVIEW SCHDULED ON 4TH FEB 2010 but main status is IN PROCESS.
tell me one more thing frnds, should i carry references from clients also but consider this thing that clients visit our office very rare
thanx& regards

one more thing, my wife is not very good in english speaking & if an interpreter is arranged for her would it leave a negative impression on IO.
my agent has told me that mywife would also be interviewed

Hi Ramneek,

Thank you for your response. Take maximum documentary evidence in respect of your employment like, appointment letter, job contract, pay slips etc. Since you are working in your brother's company, independant evidence ( evidence from third parties) like, IT return receipts, salary credited account statements, currespondences from other companies clearly showing your designation and duties, cleint references etc are very important. Be ready with all evidence, then you can decide what to show depending on the interview questions.

Sorry to hear about the interview. Not to worry if your documentation is genuine and you have worked as claimed by you at brother's firm. Just be prepared for a lot of general questions about it. Read the duties etc carefully. Some of the questions will be repeated again and again after a few questions just to find out any discrepancies in the previous statements. So take your time to answer and stick to the same answer no if and buts..Remember there is nothing wrong in working in a family owned firm just that you have to convince the visa officer about it. Your brother should also go through all the possible questions and their answers with you.

If I were you I would order caips notes... asap, so as to get the exact reason to why they want to an interview. As you have not received any communication regarding the interview you have time to do so. The interview letter should also let you know whether you have the option to postone ie request another date for the interview should you not be available. This will give you more time to wait for caips notes which take about 4-6 weeks if you order them. Meanwhile as and when you get an interview call it will let you know whether your wife also needs to be interviewed or not. If she has problems with english and is not the principal applicant it should be ok as there is no requirement that the spouse should also have a certain level of english. IELTS is asked only for the principal applicant and not the spouse/dependents.

If you can share the letter of interview and how you proceeded on it with the questions asked on this forum it will be nice of you and will benefit a lot of members in similar situations.

All the best.
