Hello,

I sent an email to the Singapore office asking for an update as we had not heard a peep for a very long time. (Approved for Sponsorship in June 2012)

They got back to me saying the Interview Request letter was sent in FEBRUARY (2013)! (That was it. One line, no elaboration)

I am terrified we are going to miss our appointment.

Any advice about how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. It feels like a very urgent matter.

Thank you......

Send a case specific email saying you never got the letter and asking when the interview is or was. Also try going to your MP and asking for help. Some of them are very helpful.

I didnt even get a letter until 2 weeks before the interview was to be conducted....Look on the principal applicants e-cas under permanent residence application status and it will say what date he or she has to go to the interview....out of experience...good luck

Thank you for the advice.

I sent a case specific email off as soon as I read Singapore's email.

There is nothing on ECAS. They have not even updated my husband's (Principal Applicant) address. (Sent information 1 month ago.)

Should I call? Can you even call?

Thank you.

Waiting on Forever.... 2 weeks before! How could they expect you to be ready! What if the letter gets lost in the mail. Cannot believe they would not sent an email or update ECAS to let you know the interview was scheduled! It is the electronic age!!

Also,

I moved back to Thailand when the visa did not seem forthcoming. (After I had moved from Thailand back to Canada to complete my degree in the hopes that this process would be finished around the same time I was. Naive.)

Does this mean I do not technically have an MP? (Forgive my ignorance on this matter.)

I know right....thats not the rest of the story we did not receive the letter until a week before the interview...the only reason I knew about the interview was I stumbled on it when I was checking the husbands status on e-cas...hm I can't understand why you haven't received anything...you should have gotten something by now if the letter was sent out in FEB...call CIC and just tell them how are we supposed to know about an interview when we haven't received the proper documentation..Sorry I cant help you further...GOOD LUCK!!!!
P.S are you looking under "permanent resident status" where it says "we have received your application on " such and such a date?

One week! Good God. That week must have been so insane and stressful.

This immigration thing does my head in. I am not a stupid woman, but they make me feel like I am.

Regarding ECAS, I am looking in the correct area. It has never changed. Application received on.....

So you do think this is worthy of a telephone call? (Bear in mind when they informed me that we were indeed on the interview list, after I prompted them for this information of course, they mentioned the wait can be up to 24 months! SINGAPORE.)

I do try not to hassle them too much. I know they are busy, but I do have to put our future first.

Are you checking ECAS using the applicant's information or the sponsor's information?

make sure to check using the applicant's information.

Also, every visa office has a fax number. I would suggest you type a letter and describe the situation. The applicant should write the letter and specify the file number on the top. Then fax it to the number. Address it to Visa Officer, Immigration Section, Canadian Consulate..........

Remember when you communicate with the visa office, must say the applicant UCI #, file number, name, sponsor's name, date of birth, e-mail address etc.

I second that goodman...that would be the best way...I would take goodman's advice for sure..just to be sure...you dont want to miss your interview as you never know WHEN the VO office will call you for one!!!...good luck and let us know how you make out!!

Still no further elaboration from Singapore, but now I think I misunderstood the initial email.

It says the "Interview Queue Letter" was sent in February. Since i did not receive a copy of this letter I just assumed (assuming is a bad idea, I know) that it was the letter with the interview date but....

now that I have calmed down and checked the emails again, I feel like the Queue letter was just a letter saying that they are requesting an interview... not a letter with an actual date.

A previous email said the queue is 24 months. And they inform you 4-6 weeks before.

Gawd. I am so high strung about this process that I am not thinking clearly. Do you think this is a probably the case?

Singapore has also responded that they will sent all further information through email.....

Thanks for your calm and rational replies. This process is certainly doing my head in.

Yes, first letter is to inform you are in the queue for up to 24 months, which is horse shit. 2nd letter will be to inform you of the actual date.
