My husband has his interview in Sao Paulo in the morning! Does anyone know off-hand what their procedure is there for issuing the visa? He was told to bring his passport with him, so does that mean it is issued on the day of the interview or do they send it to him? He is not from Sao Paulo and has travelled a looong way for the interview. I miss him soo much, we have not seen each other since April - I can't believe it is almost finished!! :) Prayers and positive thoughts for us please!!

Hi Cdagal - I'm not sure what the process is in Sao Paulo but it does sound like often (not always) the decision is made right at the interview so I guess it's faster to get the passport then rather than have it sent in later.. Sending you positive thoughts - let us all know how it went.

He is in his interview right now...I have never been so nervous in my whole life. I actually don't think I ever get nervous, surprisingly, he was not worried in the least :) What a feeling when someone else holds your future in their hands though - gahhhh! Longest hours of my life....

Then you will get a call or email from him saying "POSITIVEEEE BABYYYYYYYYYYYY"

LOL ... just like I did my partner after I came out of my interview. Just breathe and everything will be just the way god wants it to.

Ohhh that would be so great!!! :) I hope you are right!

The interview went alright..they said that they will contact my husband in a week or two, but did not indicate that he was approved. They still told him not to sell his property or leave his job. (Although he already has, as his employer refused to allow him time off to attend the interview, so he had no other choice.) They gave him the choice to leave his passport with them or take it with him for submission later, and told him that all his documentation looked good. We had submitted some police certificates late, and I think maybe they have not yet dealt with those, but I am not sure.. My husband said he felt like everything went very well. but I still feel like we are in limbo. :(

I think they just need to verify his security clearances from those late submissions of the police records. He should be fine. Just don't hold off too much on their "2 weeks notice" because it's like a lifetime for CIC ... been waiting since my interview in Sept for further instructions for payments, etc and still can't get anything in the mail ... my IO said that I will hear from him in "2 weeks" as well after my interview.

Just a little thumbs up just so you don't worry too much if two weeks have passed and no news :D

Cdagal, sorry to hear you didnt get the visa right at the interview. I also thought it was a done deal. Hopefully they will not take too much longer now. Wow, they sure like to drag this on.

Our prayers are with you!
