Hello everyone.
My husband got email from immigration that he have to go for interview to Mexico cuz Canadian Immigration in Havana it’s closed. My husband is living in U.S. and he have deportation orden from there, if he leaves the country he can’t go back. Does anyone knows if we can request to transfer his aplication to U.S.?

This is very standard. When doing an Outland application you are expected to return to your home country to do the interview. This is me of the issues if you are living illegally in another country.

My husband is Cuban but since they closed embassy in Havana they transferred his application to Mexico. Does he have to go to Mexico? He come to U.S. with visa but because of U.S. issues he got deportation orden and because Cuba and U.S has problems U.S. allow him to stay in U.S. I send request to Immigration to transfer papers to US waiting for respond

It is unlikely. Can he enter Mexico? That may be an issue. In general, you are required to return to your home country to be interviewed. You will have to see what happens. Usually your illegal status in the US doesn’t matter and you are required to go to your home country.

We don’t know, the only thing I know that his passport has ICE police and till he not gonna leave the country they will keep it. The other thing he have to go for a visa to Mexican consulat if they not gonna allow to send his case to U.S.

Cuban is difficult to get a VISA to Mexico, but not impossible. With an interview letter from CIC will have a big chance for your husband to secure a VISA to Mexico.

If I were your husband, I would prepare for both. If the case transfers to US, then it's like winning a jackpot. If not, then prepare to say goodbye to US.
