I'm a spouse of an international student in Canada, I have my open work permit and in November 2018, I'm in my 1 year work experience. Is this possible that I will be the principal applicant and my spouse will no longer continue his 2nd year of study? Or, does my husband need to finished his 2 year diploma study and he still be the principal applicant?

If your husband stops studying, his study permit will be void after 90 days and he will be out of status.
You can be the principal applicant. You husband can either keep studying or change his status to visitor if he doesn't want to study anymore.

How can I apply as a principal applicant since my status is only an open work permit? Do I need to need to find a job which is qualified for permanent residency?
