Hey everyone. I have applied for MSc Civil at the University of Calgary (Winter--Jan--23) and will again be applying for M. Engg Civil. My profile is 3.7 CGPA graduated from NED-2021. Did 3 internships, submitted an article paper in a journal & also have Strong Extracurricular. I have been employed before my graduation and now have 1+ year of professional experience. I have some queries which are confusing me right now and will be thankful if someone answers them.
I already applied for MSc. Civil at UoC for Winter Intake but is not hopeful since professors there are not accepting any students. So now I would go for Fall-23 intake but in M.Engg, the question is, would it be fine to apply again right away for Fall-23 intake as soon as I get the decision (considering I am not accepted in winter intake)? If it is Okay to apply again for Fall-23 Intake, and assuming I get acceptance, I would opt for SDS-Visa for which my tuition would be paid from Pakistan (father) and my GIC would be managed by my brother-in-law who is a professional Engineer at Shell Canada, I have my first blood relatives living in Calgary with their own house and my accommodation and other living requirements would be managed by them at first.
With this whole scenario made clear,
1- I wanted to ask how can use I my family Tie to the best of my advantage on my Visa.
2- Whoever is at the University of Calgary or has connections there can please tell me about my chances of getting accepted.
3-If my GIC is made in Canada, what impact would it have on my visa considering I am somewhat partially funded by my father and brother-in-law?
