Hi, all.
I've been reading a ton of threads on this forum trying to figure out what's the best way for my wife to come over for a visit.
I am an international student (from Bulgaria) in Alberta, soon to graduate. My study permit expires in July 2015, but in May 2015 (right after I graduate) I should have my 2-year work permit. Me and my wife (also from Bulgaria) got married a month ago and I was wondering what would be the best way for her to apply to come visit me. Eventually I will be able to apply for permanent resident and hopefully she can do it with me.
1. Should she apply right now, or wait until I have my work permit? (my study permit right now is expiring in July 2015)
2. Should she apply for a TRV as my spouse, or as a tourist?
3. Are we better off applying for a 6 month TRV or longer that 6 months?
4. Why is it that she needs an airplane ticket in order to apply? How are we sure we won't just waste the money, if she doesn't get a visa?
5. Should she buy a 2-way ticket showing that she will leave within six months?
6. Would it be better to say that she is going to show her own income, or say she's my dependant and I can show my bank account?
- What's the best option we have at all? May be another recommendation?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thank you.
