If international student has a new baby will the baby be Canadian Citizen ?
How difficult would be to get Canadian citizenship for the mother and father ?
Thanks.

I do believe that a child born in Canada is a Canadian. There was a Ugandan woman flying to the US (Boston) and gave birth in Canadian airspace. The news reported that the child will be Canadian.

(this is somewhat contradictory to the last episode of Bones that I saw where they arrested a guy on a plane seconds before it landed in China because they claimed that as long as the plane hadn't touched the soil in China, it is still within US jurisdiction.)

If an international student has a baby in Canada, the baby is a Canadian citizen as well as it may also take the citizenship of its parents depending on the citizenship law of the parents homelands. Having a Canadian citizen baby will do absolutely nothing for the parents regarding their claim to permanent residency or citizenship. They still need to qualify on their own or they can wait until the baby is 18 years + and has enough income to sponsor them.
