Hello,

My husband will be coming back in a week and he acquired an IDP from Algeria, I know the rules in BC is that he can drive with it for a period of 6 months since he has a visitor visa. I just wanted to know how do we go about getting the insurance ? I heard that insurance companies boost up the price when you don't have a valid BC drivers license. What are the best steps to buying a car with a IDP.

You go to ICBC and get the insurance just like anyone else.
