Hello,

My future wife and I will be applying for Immigration to Canada through the express entry under Federal Skilled Workers Program.
She will be applying as the primary applicant and I'll be the secondary applicant since she has the higher score. We have a few questions regarding the process.

1. Is there any minimum time requirement for our marriage? (in other words, do we have to be married for a certain amount of time before applying)

2. Considering she is the primary applicant, when we do get our ITA, can the proof of funds submitted be in my name? Or does the primary applicant have to apply for proof of funds in his/her name? What about a shared funds account for example?

Any answer is highly appreciated.
Thank you

1. As long as you are able to provide a legal proof of marriage no prerequisite required. Unless you wish to claim common law partnership https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=346&top=14
in common law partnership (if meet prerequisites) you do not need to marry in on a certain point.

2. Yes however primary applicant should proof a full access to those funds at anytime.
