Inland Spousal Visa Process

Hello All! I got my PR in March 2017 through the express entry program and have been living in Toronto since.. I will be getting married in India in May 2019 and plan to sponsor my spouse. I've been reading a lot online, but the timelines are conflicting, could you please help me ?

Step 1: Apply for his Visitor visa (Temporay residence permit)
Step 2: Apply for Inland spousal visa
Step 3: Apply for Open work permit ( how long does this take on average?)

Any help will be appreciated. Both my partner and I are Indian nationals.

You need to apply for a TRV (not a TRP). A TRV is a regular visitor visa. A TRP is a special visa for individuals who are inadmissible to Canada typically due to a crime.

You include the OWP application with the inland application if he is able to get a TRV and travel to Canada.

Note that TRVs are often refused in these situations - so you may have to sponsor him outland.
