Hi there! I am a permanent Resident of Canada and my husband is on open work permit (He completed his studies last year and so he got his work visa). We got married in India, last november. I am trying to get his PR based on mine but I am not working yet, whereas he has a well paid job. So, I have 3 questions:
1) Do I need to be working (have a job) to sponsor him?
2) If yes, do i need a employment letter or my last three month's pay stubs?
3) What all documents would i need to prove our marriage?

1. You don't need a job. You need a plan to support him for three years, since that's the promise you have to make.

2. If you have a job, you need an employment letter and a notice of assessment.

3. See the document checklist. It's a long list.
