Hi knowledgeable lovely people. I'm desperate for help here since it's been 16 months and I still have no OWP or PR. I feel like a caged lion in limbo with no more sense of time or further plans.
My wife a Canadian PR is sponsoring me and our 4 year old daughter. The other two girls were born in Canada. The paper application was received by IRCC on august 24th 2018. The last update we got is that we did pass the medicals.
I have submitted webforms and they thanked me for waiting and apologized for the situation I'm in but again, the answer is to wait.
Important details-
* I was deported to Mexico from the USA 10 years ago on May 10th, 2020
* my criminal background check from the FBI includes 2 misdemeanors in the state of Wisconsin. One for hit and run when I was 14 years old and another is a CCW (carrying a Concealed weapon)
*I have no other record with the law since I was a kid. This is more than 10 years ago and I heard in canada it doesnt count against you after 6 years. (Not sure if that's true)
The portal has no new information and when I contact the agents on the phone they only say that my file was transferred to the Edmonton office back in June of 2019 and to keep waiting.
Is there anything else I can do besides waiting? Our representative who charged us almost $4,000 for the application says there's nothing else to do.
I really want to work because we have 3 daughters under the age of 4 and all of my plans have frozen in time and I'm not getting any younger. I'm in my prime to work and here I sit, counting the days to get an answer. Hopefully a positive one.
Anyone has any comments of any kind or info?
My friend told me "No answer is better than a No from IRCC"
Thank you all for your time and advice.
