Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Hi dear I am new in the forum and need some information. My husband filed for me inland in feb 2012 and in Oct we got a letter asking for meds to be done and for police clearance and copy of passport and more supporting documents for our relationship.We sent all by the end of october including our new born baby's birth cert and also included medicals proof for my kids who arent in Canada.Was that letter the AIP? or do we have to wait for that.
Also usually how long does it take after pp and police clearance for approval for pr?

I think that the letter would have said if it was AIP, only you would know that.
If you have AIP, then another 9? months before PR.
