Inland Spousal Sponsorship - Landing Interview Rescheduling

Hey all!

My wife and I got an e-mail telling us that we have a landing interview! It was prescheduled and we had no input on the date or time.

Somewhat miraculously, the landing interview falls directly on the date and time of one of my wife's University exams. It's unclear whether or not we'll be able to defer that.

We followed the instructions on the letter on how to reschedule, but have received no response from CIC. Does anybody have any experience doing this?

How long does it take for them respond? Are we safe in assuming the interview will be rescheduled?

Apply to defer the exam. A university should understand that a landing interview is very important and should reschedule it.

No universities will not feel that an interview is a good reason to request a defered exam.

I worked in universities for quite some time. Having a student request a deferral for an exam based on an immigration interview is a valid reason to defer an exam. The OP should at least attempt, rather than hoping that CIC will receive and action the rescheduling request.

Just an update: We called the number on the letter and were able to speak to a CIC agent.

They were very helpful and sent a followup message to the office where our landing interview was scheduled.

They informed us we would probably NOT receive a reply from CIC until after they determine our new interview date.

So it was like I described. We called the number that came with the landing letter and ended up talking to the agent and outlined why we had to reschedule.

They assured that we would get a reschedule eventually, but probably not until it was closer to the new date.

HOWEVER, we got a reschedule notice the next day, and the new interview date was 7 days after the original one.

This was the Toronto, Ontario office. The number for your office should have been on your Interview Request Letter
