Good morning peeps!

I'm under a visitor permit here in Canada, because my work visa finished and my current company where I was working didn't want to sponsor me. When I applied to extend my stay, it was granted not long ago. But I never got my physical permit on the mail, and it expires in 2 weeks. I will apply for a new one this week, but until I get an answer it will take a couple of months, that means I will stay under an "implied status"

I've been dating a Canadian Citizen for a year, and living together for 6 months. We have plans of getting married this summer, my question is: Can I get married under the implied status? Or do I need to wait for my extension to be granted and then get married?

Please help!!

You can get married whenever and wherever you want... it doesn't matter whatsoever what your current status is.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I am very new to the subject. We will get married in Canada and when paperwork is fine for me to travel we will do a wedding in my native country.

In Canada, when getting married, don't I need a paper showing my status? or just my passport?
