INLAND SPONSORSHIP TRAVEL ADVISE

Hi guys, so I need some suggestions from experienced individuals who applied inland spousal sponsorship. I recived AIP and PR approval last week, so I am waiting for my landing appointment on which I have been advised that it can take up to 12 weeks. I should receive my OWP by this week. And I am planning to leave the country for a week and would want your suggestions on re entry...... Again from only experienced ppl ...... I don't wanna know what "you think"...

NOBODY can give you a guarantee that you will be admitted back into Canada if you leave during the Inland application process.

You are at the mercy of the CBSA if you go against what the Inland application requirements are...to remain in Canada.

Perhaps instead of demanding that only experienced people reply (not those that just wanna tell you what "we think"...), you could give some information about your situation.

Knowing whether you are from a visa exempt country, would be a good starting point.

The risk of being denied back into Canada will always remain. If you are from a visa exempted country, the risk is low. If you are from a visa required country, then the risk is much higher. Regardless the inherit risk is still there.

Many people including myself will advise you to not leave Canada during the process. Even if it was for 2 weeks max. However if you do not want to heed our advice, it is your choice. Just be aware of the risk and accept the consequences of your actions in case it didn't go as planned.

What country is your passport from?

If you are denied re-entry back into Canada for whatever reason, then your landing appointment and entire application is cancelled and you will need to start from the beginning again. It is up to you if you want to take this risk or not.

While I agree that there is an inherent risk to leaving the country until you have actually landed, I am not sure how much of an issue you will have gaining entry back into Canada especially if they can clearly see you are ONLY waiting on a landing appointment and have been granted your PR. I would think, if you are from a visa exempt country it should not be much of an issue. If you are not from a visa exempt country, I think your biggest hurdle would be HOW are you going to board a flight back to Canada without a proper travel visa? Will your airline allow that? That would be more of a concern for me than whether or not I was allowed in at the Canadian border.

Sorry guys if I came out too strong with the "you think", its coz all my post from my last account used to get all kinda " I think" crap confusing me even more. I am not from a visa exempt country but I do have a multiple entry student visa which is valid till Nov 14 so I guess boarding a flight shouldn't be a problem.And just to let you know I am travelling with my spouse... Where are you planning to land? Because they said it could take up to 12 weeks, there have been a few instances where the folks who have gotten DM received a landing letter inside of a week for the following week or 10 days later. It would be a shame for you to be out of the country and come home to find out you have a letter to land and then you missed the appointment because you were gone. They don't just give you another landing date, btw, you would be considered to have abandoned your application and would have to begin again if that happened.

Just an update about this, I went ahead for an amazing vacation to Cuba for 7 days, and I re entered with no problems at all , with no questions asked.The only question IO asked was where did I travel and how many days and wat did we bring with us. And the most amazing part was I received my landing appointment letter just a day before we left and I was landed last Saturday Immigration isn't bad as every1 makes them sound
