After 2 years and two months of waiting, my wife receive today a "call in notice" to appear on interview in CIC Etobicoke after 2 weeks. In this "call in notice" CIC is saying that they need the following documents: copmleted form IMM0008, me as a spouse, 2 interpreters, valid passport, record of landing, birth cert, letter of employment, tax return for me and my wife, marriage cert, copy of bills, copy of joint accounts, copy of credit cards, pictures from ceremonies, any other information you might thing prove genuine relationship.

Is anyone ever received such a "call in notice"?
Please any help will be great

Anyone? Sorry I am not from Delhi or Islamabad to get answer, but anyway...

Hi! Me and my husband went for an interview last month. Sept.12 to be exact in cic-edmonton. We brought all the requirements the io asked. Rent/lease agreement, pictures (wedding, trips, family affairs etc.) , paystubs, t4, notice of assessment, bills(epcor, insurance, credit cards, telus) , option c. We received the notice aug. 30.

The interview went well! You just really need to be calm and tell the truth. Nothing to worry about:)

After 1 month, oct.12 , i received an email requesting for medical. Then 0ct. 16 , just last wed. We received our aip and my open work permit.

Good luck with everything!

Hi Peter74,

How was your interview? I guss you should be there today?

Please let me know how its goes.

Good Lock

POLOCAP

How was it?

Hope everything went well!

We went to an interview on 25th this month. The interview went very smooth. Today Oct. 28 I received 2 letters - one for me that I have been met the eligibility as a sponsor, and my wife received a letter that is saying:

"This letter acknowledges receipt of your application for permanent resident status in Canada.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final
decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident
have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you
and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not
applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you have met these requirements.

What to expect now? Is it too early to make travel plans for New Years Eve outside of Canada?:)))

Congrats on getting your AIP for the both of you, passing 1st stage. You got another possible 8 months wait before you can get your PR landing. So you can't make any travel plans just yet. You are still stuck in Canada for a while.

Thanks. I hope it will happens soon:)

I am thinking we might go on vacation after the long 2 years wait, because the letter:

"This letter acknowledges receipt of your application for permanent resident status in Canada.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final
decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident

and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not
applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you have met these requirements"

continues like this:

"If preliminary information indicates that you probably meet all statutory requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, you will receive a letter asking you to attend an interview at the Canada Immigration Centre in your area. A final determination on your application for permanent residence will be made at this interview. If you do not attend this interview, it could be interpreted as a lack of interest in permanent residence and your application could be refused".

We have been asked already for medical and police certificate back in September 2012 and August this year I ordered ATIP notes and I saw there: Medical check - done
Police background check - done

Fingers crossed.....
