Inland - Record of Solemnization instead of the marriage certificate

Hello everyone!

Quick question: I HAVE to send in my application by March 31st latest. I got married on March 1st. Would it be okay if I send a notarized copy of the Record of Solemnization of Marriage with my application and the certificate later, in case it doesn't arrive in time?

Has anyone done this before and had their application go through alright?

Please let me know!

I have all of my documents ready (including my FBI clearance and police certificate from Pakistan) and I'm just missing this piece from my packet.

It took me 11 weeks for mine to arrive. Some say yes send it others will say no wait until you have all the required papers. Sorry can't help. I waited for mine.

Ah, never mind! Service Ontario mailed my certificate yesterday!

It was pretty quick, the service. I think the faxes I sent really helped

Just as a note, I sent in my application in December with only the record solemnization, and sent the certificate in this week (3 months later).

I received AOR fine, and my sponsorship is "in process", so it seems just fine to do this.

This happened to me back in 2009 as well. Back then the wait times for the certificate were the same. But based on advice I got on this forum, I applied right away and had my certificate within three weeks of getting married. So sometimes applying right away works.

I applied the next day .They already had us on file because we needed authorization from them because my husband was divorced in the U.K.i called them every week ,i sent them letters and i still got unless you are being deported it will take 8-12 weeks ..I am happy for the op as he needed it really soon.
