Hello all,

I applied for PR under the common -law class in January 2014 and have a visitor record valid until Dec.31.2014. I am going to visit my family in Korea from Sep. to Oct., and will apply for study permit online while i am visiting.

I am just freaked about this re-entering matters. When i came back to Canada last time, one of the CBSA agents told me that as long as I maintain my status in Canada, re-entering wouldn't be a problem. Again, I called CIC call centre and he told me visiting my family for a month wouldn't be a big deal. My fiance who likes to watch The Border Security, the TV Show, says that I don't have to worry about it and just being honest with them.

I know that many other PR applicants try not to go outside Canada while in process. Anybody actually had a problem with this? I also would like to know what kind of documents I should bring to support my re-entry to Canada. Thank you for your attention and comments! :)

I would like to know this too, I am sure as long as you can show them that you have applied and that your application is in Progress that should be okay.

I would show them the AOR Email/Application Number/

As a visa-exempt passport holder, the chance of being denied re-entry is incredibly small. Just bring proof of your PR app already in progress and that should be fine.

Remember that a strict rule of all inland apps, is that the sponsor and applicant must be cohabiting in Canada, during the entire processing time. If CIC for whatever reason learns you are outside of Canada for a long time, and thinks you are no longer cohabiting, the inland app could just be cancelled. A 1 month trip should be ok, but I wouldn't go any longer.

In hindsight you should have applied outland through Manila office for quicker processing and no worries about leaving Canada, but that is in the past now.

What kinda of Status are you on? Implied?

As when you come back into the country, I am sure they will just Stamp your passport as a visitor until you have you're PR

I have a extended visitor record valid December 31, 2014. I also have applied for Open Work Permit online on May after I sent my PR application. I checked with CIC Call centre since there were no progress, but it turns out they're waiting for my 1st stage approval.

Now I have applied for ANOTHER Extension on visitor record (multiple-entry), but haven't heard from them yet..
