So once my iec expires I just stay right? Jut making sure.

Yes you just stay but I do stress make sure you have submitted you application BEFORE it runs out, you don't really want to go out of status if it can be avoided. If you are having troubles gathering documentation then I suggest early January look at extending your status by requesting a visitor's visa. I am not sure on the wait times for a visitor visa but please do check. (Last I saw it was about a 6 week wait)

Also now I think, can you not apply for a 2nd IEC if you qualify? I know it is closed at the moment but it should be open soon. :D

Yeah we definitely have tons of pics of all our travels. How can we prove that I've lived with him for a year? I have a full page and a bit of Canadian Stamps in my passport and he's got a few matching up for a couple euro trips as well. Now I'm not the smartest person lets put it that way lol, but let me explain. (Ill try not to make this an essay for you) I have a stamp from June last year I came over to visit n lie with him until we together travelled to Europe to travel for a couple weeks he's got stamps and we got tickets to prove that. Then I went back to Canada with him to stay gain until I went back for exactly 3 weeks to see my family. Then went back to Canada once again (that's when my bummer with the officer happened but was allowed in) he gave me 3 months to stay which was Jut enough for me to obtain my iec visa so that would be considered common law right! We went to the registry to declare our common law statutory declaration form!

No unfortunately I can't apply for a second iec because it isn't under the Denmark and Canada agreements. We have definitely lived over one year together (I don't even know how long and many times I've been out here) I got lucky I guess lol.. But no Canada don't allow Danes to get a second iec visa :( not one bit fair because every other country does.

I agree it doesn't seem fair and I applied outland and am going to wait out the rest of my PR application in Canada come December. I am 35(35 is overage for UK residents) in February so depending when IEC opens I may/may not apply for that Visa depending on my PR application.

As for proving common-law (You may need to get a 2nd opinion on this) I think it will essentially be financially based, what I mean is....... You will need to provide documentation that your joint bank account has been at least 1 year, your utility bills are both addressed to you and at least 1 year old, lease agreements again 1 year old. Written letters from family and friends will help support (but are not definitive proof). If you don't think you quite qualify yet, then my suggestion would be to get a visitor visa's once your IEC expires and then wait until you have concrete proof it has been 1 year and then file your application, in the mean time, spend all your time gathering all the documents you require so you can send your application ASAP. :D

Really? My fingers are crossed for you. That would be nice. Being apart is dreadful.

So our passport stamps won't be enough proof I guess. Uh oh!

We will have to through all we got I think, because we've only had a rental agreement since may this year and joint bank account since July this year. But before we got our own place we lived together at his moms place where I have tons of mail (no date on though) but if she and her partner states we lived there would that app,y maybe? Ugh it's so hard to convince everything it seems lol.

We don't get any utility bills they're all sent to our landlord who takes care of them.. Which is kind of odd in my opinion but oh well.

Like I said, I would definitely get a 2nd opinion on my advice, if you can prove it has been longer than a year then you are fine. I just am a little unsure exactly what they are looking for but I am sure somebody on here will help out. Living at parents before you moved in together may very well be enough, I am just not entirely sure how to document it and exact proofs. I wish you good luck and I am heading off for some much needed sleep but do get advice on how to proof the part where you were living together with parents.

Good luck :D
