Hi,

I'm a Permanent Resident of Canada (currently living in Canada). Planning to get married in Jan'2020 (in India). My spouse already has a visitor visa of Canada. My questions is, do I apply for Outland sponsorship for my spouse whilst in India OR should I first wait for my spouse to enter Canada on her Visitor visa and then apply for an Inland sponsorship. Can someone please suggest? I've tried searching many threads and CIC website however, didn't come across anyone who's facing a similar situation. Any help / suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Matter that worries me most -
Can she be denied entry if I apply outland sponsorship before we arrive to Canada?
If we don't apply outland sponsorship and she arrives on her visitor visa, can she still be denied entry?

Funds - have shown enough funds for both. I also have a full time job in Canada so I don't think that's going to be a problem.

Air ticket - We're planning to book a return flight for my spouse (with a 4-month stay duration).

Thank you,
Bhavya

Anyone holding any kind of visa can be denied entry at the border if the CBSA officers have reason deny you entry.

When thinking about inland/outland it's also worth considering the various factors - if she applies inland, she cannot leave Canada for very long while the application is processing because she may be denied re-entry. If she applies outland and comes to Canada, she may be denied entry, or if she's in Canada, she may be required to leave Canada for biometrics or interviews.

It's up to you. There are many, many, many examples of people on this forum who face this exact scenario.

Whether to apply inland or outland is a personal decision.

The chances of being refused entry in either situation are extremely low.

If she applies outland while in Canada, she will have to leave Canada to complete biometrics.
