Has anyone successfully gotten past the police certificate stage for sponsoring a colombian living in Toronto.

It seems that getting the police certificate is a huge headache.

Please help. The instructions are not clear...

It has to be translated from what I hear but the company only sends it directly to CIC in Colombia but not in Canada.

Hi. You can either get the police certificate from an embassy or consulate of Colombia to Canada or you can get it through the company but they would send the results to the VO in Bogota directly, so I don't think that would be helpful to you. Now, once you get it from the consulate/embassy, you can translate it and CIC would accept it.
