Hello Everyone,

I'm seeking a little advice on the Inland Spousal application, specifically on the OWP side of things. I'm currently on the IEC visa and have 1 year left, I know that is probably enough time to process the outland application but I have a decent job, benefits and an OHIP card so i'm in no rush to go outland.

I'm working my way through the work permit applications and I've hit a wall. I've completed 5710,
I didn't use a representative so N/A for 5476
I assume 5475 is optional (Please advise if not)
The tricky one is 5409 Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union. I've read conflicting information. do I need to send this or not, please help!

It's also asking for health insurance, I have health insurance until the end of my IEC which is one year from now, I also have an OHIP card until December 2017, do I really need to purchase extra insurance?

Please help

Thanks

What country are you from? I seriously suggest you reconsider applying inland, especially since you have a work visa already. You might get your full PR before you'd even get the inland work permit.

Hi AquaKitty,

I'm from the UK, the issue is if the outland application went to London and takes longer than 12 months then i'm in a bit of a situation. Also if any mistake is made that will add to the time it takes to process I assume?

I'm being over cautions from experience with the IEC visa. So I was just wondering what documents for the work permit I had to submit.

Thanks

I suggest you have a look at the London thread and spreadsheet. Most apps have been going to Ottawa, which averages about 6 months or less. If your app is sent to London, the average there is about 9 months.
