Hello, My daughter who is Canadian and husband (Australian) and new baby have arrived in Canada as Visitors but would now like to apply for his PR card on an Inland application as he will need to work. On the Financial Evaluation form it asks for the last 12 months of Tax Assessment Notice (from Canadian sources) however she has only worked in Australia for the past 6 years. She is currently employed in Canada and more then able to show support. Should she just send in her new employment and earnings information? along with her old Australia tax returns? She also has an investment into a Canadian company she can withdraw if needed. They are currently living with us, room and board-free. Can anyone guide us a bit through this part of the process, please?

Hi

Sydney is a VERY fast office, averaging about 6 months. They should definitely be applying outland. It takes at least 4 months for the inland OWP to arrive, so it really doesn't make much difference in working but is a HUGE difference in processing time.

As for the financial section, she can show her Australian tax return, payslips from her job and a letter from you (notarized is best) stating you are providing free room and board while they get settled.

Thank you for the information. When you say Sydney is very fast, do you mean processing the Sponsorship/PR Card application/OWP in 6 months (no promises) ... or receive a PR card in that time? It's looking like most people are applying OUTLAND.

The average time to become a PR through Sydney is around 6 months. It then takes a few months to receive the PR card.

Most people apply outland because it's the better choice.
