Hi guys,

I will be landing in Toronto very soon and need advice on the Initial PR Card Photos. The PR Card application form IMM5444 says that TWO photos are required. The Visa Office had emailed me to inform that my case is ready to be finalized and requested me to send my Passport and 2 photos. I sent those and a month later they issued me the Visa and Confirmation of PR with one photo on it and returned the other photo to me. Now since 2 photos are required for the PR card, should I get another copy of the same photo that VO returned to me and have the date stamped on its back or should I get 2 NEW photos taken for the PR Card?
Regards,

No photos required while applying PR card.

They will only ask address for delivery of PR card which should be correct

thanks Coolguy, but are you sure that No photos are required for first-time applicant of PR Card? i have read on the CIC website the guidelines stating that 2 photos are required that should have the date written on the back. CIC is very strict on PR card photos and i've read people being asked to have photos taken again. So can you please elaborate why No photos are required for first-time PR Card applicant?
Regards,

Yes, I have landed on 6th august and they just asked address for PR card. They have changed the system and no photos are required

Hi

Coolguy is right. But there are some exceptional cases where after a month of landing they ask for fresh photos. This happened to me so i sent them photos again with date on back hand written and signed and stamped by the photographer. So to be on the safe side and to save some precious bucs take pictures with u in case u need them.

Thanks

Atif

On landing you need not submit any photos .... But if you plan to return after landing , it will be advisable to take some photos from Canada and give it to the person receiving your PR cards ( ie the local address ) . So if there is any photo issues , they can send the photos to the immigration office by mail..
