Hi,

I got an interest from Ontario on Dec 4, 2015 and sent application package on Jan 11, 2016. It was delivered on Jan 13, 2016.

I understand it takes at least 3 months to get an acknowledgement from Ontario and at least another 3 months to get nomination and after that at least 6 months to get PR. So I have to wait at least 1 year to get PR. Is that correct?

I lost so many days between the interest letter and delivery of package due to my ignorance of the process. I didn't investigate on the documents prior and I lost my time running at the last minute. I would like to avoid it in future. So can anybody enlighten me on the procedures after getting nomination so that I can be prepared?

Note: I am planning to migrate with my spouse.

Thanks in advance.

You have most documents needed to apply for permanent residence already ready now, thanks to the Ontario application process. My suggestions to you would be to do the following:

a) Apply for police clearance certificates from any and all countries that you may have lived in for over six months straight in the last ten years;
b) Get upfront medical checkups done for yourself and for your spouse;
c) Keep your proof of funds ready

Once you get the nomination, you have 30 days to accept it. After you accept it, you get 600 points added to your profile; the next time there is an EE draw, you get an ITA. You have 60 days to accept that ITA and submit your application. Make sure you have initiated at least the police checkups before you get the ITA, as they can take substantially longer than 60 days to obtain.

Is there any validity period for the Police clearance certificates? Like IELTS and WES.

PCc must betaken after getting ITA because it expires in 6 months. Only the country you are not going to visit again you may get it done.
Medicals also to be done later.
only POF must be kept aside.
