Info about Inland and Outland sponsorship

Hello everyone,

My husband is Canadian and I’m Greek (currently living in Greece) so he’s going to sponsor me for a PR. Could you please clarify some things for me?

• Can we apply for an Inland sponsorship if I go to Canada on a visitor’s visa since I don’t have a temporary work permit or do I have to be already working in Canada to apply for this type of sponsorship?
• If yes, while waiting for the PR can I travel outside Canada for vacation or am I not allowed to leave the country even for a short period of time?

Yes, you can apply inland if you are in Canada.

You can leave but if you are refused re-entry, the inland app is cancelled. The risk is very low but it is there.
