Hi,

I am an Indian , i was pursuing my twinning course for BS(computer science) CO-OP from India , I have successfully completed 2 years in India and I have
an acceptance to credits transfer I have 4.0 GPA till now & 8 in my IELTS . But my parents are working in Nepal for the past 10 years now!!

I have sufficient funds(liquid money) to show but again the entire money resides in banks in Nepal and not in India. how do I go about it?

my questions are like would money in standardized banks in Nepal be accepted? :( ??

does my dad have to show income tax returns and if he does he has ITR's for nepal only !!!

All my documents are complete but I have no Idea how to proceed with the arrangement of financial documents!!

would a loan from HDFC credila work in case of a Normal category?

Plz help me out with thisssss :o

Hi,

If you are an Indian national, holding an Indian passport and studying form an Indian educational institution, then you will most probably have to apply under Indian visa application rules. Since, you 've received admission offer from McMaster university, then you will need to apply as an Indian national under General Univ. category for study visa. I'll not be able to comment on..how if you can apply from Nepal /CHC Kathmandu.

If you wish to apply from India..to CHC Chandigarh/CHC New Delhi for study permit, then according check these info documents. Go to this site: http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/visaapplication.html and see these 2 documents(already am listing):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5269E.PDF ---(1)

http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/pdf/Application_for_Prospective_University_Students_190412.pdf ---(2)

So, according to Canadian High Commission/CHC of India, as per the university checklist [docu (2)]... to prove your financial condition, it is best and strongly reccomended for university students to submit:

Copy of an Educational Loan from an Indian Chartered Bank equivalent to at least 80% of tuition +living + travel expenses for one academic year (normally, first year’s tuition, unless already paid, plus $8000).

On last page, the ACCEPTABLE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN INDIA are listed, and HDFC credila is not eligible as per the list.

So, in my opinion..if you wish to show all funds of your parents..bank statements.. ITR records, prove everything..probably convert to Indian rs(as in Nepal most probably funds may be in Nepali Rs.).. may be visit a C.A to do all this work..take all this pain... can be done..but I feel is a bit complicated... and how they will react to Nepali bank statements..Nepali ITR records..we never know... or simply mention..your parents are in Nepal, well setteld...and ask your parents to secure an 80% loan of your total expenses for the 1st year of your studies from the recognized Indian financial institution/bank... (if they can) and this way..everything will be much smoother.

Best of Luck.

***This is purely my personal opinion, and you should consult other sources/ trained professionals too.

Hi,

The Embassy in Nepal comes under the jurisdiction of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi. The mission's website is
http://www.newdelhi.gc.ca

So, even Nepali citizens have to apply via CHC New Delhi. You too will have to apply under General Univ. category. There is no mention of any Nepali recognized banks. I'm sure they will accept loans form MNC banks like Standard chartered in Nepal... BECAUSE Standard chartered IS CLEARLY MENTIONED UNDER LIST OF RECOGNIZED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN INDIA ON THAT CHC UNIV STUDY PERMIT CHECK LIST.

Again to be 100% sure, You better call them up or email. Just ask them.. since Standard chartered is a recognized bank (for Indians) and Nepal falls under CHC New Delhi jurisdiction, do they accept Standard chartered bank loans of Nepal branch...for citizens of Nepal/ or those staying there permanently. I'm very sure they will.

Again...it's BEST TO TAKE A LOAN, even if you have Crores of rupees. (as strongly reccomended by the CHC). that's the solid proof of your financial capability.

Hope it helps.

Best of luck.
