Indian Citizen on a conditional green, applying for work visa in Canada

I was a student in US on a F-1 visa and got a conditional green card through family. But i was offered a job in Canada, do i need to go back to India and get the visa or can i do it from the US.

Does any one have information regarding not losing my conditional green card status while i am in Canada. My contract will be for one year and i plan on coming back because my wife has a job here.

I will maintain bank accounts, pay rent and pay taxes here as well. I know i need to apply for AP with I-131 is there any thing else.

Any information would be appreciated.
