dear friends..

An indian cook has: Grade 12th, 3 yrs apprecticeship from any hotel, and 5 yrs experience.

Does following CIC criteria apply to this candidate:
A one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at
least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies = 12 points

because he has 12 years of education and more than 1 yr of apprentceship in cooking. Can he claim 12 points?

Hi Rupesh,
I am fine Sir.

Yes, Apprenticeship is actually a credential, which weighs a lot in countries like Germany. They are actually preffered over people who just did a Diploma straight through. They are called "FACHARBEITER" = "SKILLED WORKER"
An apprenticed person already knows the trade by the time he finishes. He is able to work immediately in his profession. It's an equivalent of BTec in most other countries.

To be honest, an apprenticed person is actually the so called "SKILLED WORKER".

What you normally do is, depending on the type of Occupation, you do 3 to 4 days on the job training and 1-2 days theory, which prepares you for the Exams.Alternatively, you have a 2-3year full time with morning sessions of theory and Afternoon sessions being purely Practical.

How are you doing? Hope all is well and going as expected?

Regards
BobbyB
