Hello everyone! I have just received a PhD offer in Quebec, and I have a few questions if any knowledgeable person can spare a few minutes.
- I have seen in here that some people got their study permits refused, I wasn't concerned at all before coming in here, (I am north African, with a master's degree in engineering from a top 14 school in the world, and I with C2 scores at the TEF (9 for the IELTS if that matters?)), 23, about to graduate, no gaps in education.
- The plan is to get a CAQ , and then a study permit, my PhD offer extends for a year and a half, meaning I can either start in 2021 or the summer of 2022, any idea of timelines? Is it too late to get the CAQ for september ?
- As someone who was willing to do the Express Entry, before receiving this offer, can I still get the PR while studying and move to another province when I finish my degree, how would that affect my study permit and my status in quebec, ( it’s important for insurance +tuition), I have enough points to get in. Or is there a different stream if I want to settle in later.
- Can I work while doing my PhD, part time at least, as an engineer ?
