Hi,

With the tax season ongoing, I wonder if there is anyone else looking to get an idea of Income requirement for 2022. Any thoughts / news if it will be with or without the additional 30% on MNI?

CIC portal says:
Since many sponsors may have been affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic, the income requirement for the 2020 and 2021 tax years have been reduced to the minimum necessary income (MNI), instead of the minimum necessary income plus 30%.

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1445&top=14

Minimum necessary income is on canada.ca portal.

Impossible to say because the government lowered LICO recognizing Covid May have caused employment issues. They could go back and raise it from 2019 LICO levels and raise it much higher due to 2 years of missed increases. Aim for 10k+ from LICO in 2019 and you should be fine. Would personally guess 30% is back given that many people thought it could back back last year. Nothing has caused significant employment issues this year.
