i am sponsoring my common law spouse who is currently here with me in Canada, and his two girls who are in jamaica. we have one child together and i have 2 from a previous relationship. so thats 5 in total. does immigration take into account my income when i apply for him and his girls? some places say yes, others say no, im soooo confused about all this. any help would be appreciated.

There is no income requirement for sponsoring a spouse and dependent children. From the document referenced in the last post:

If you are sponsoring a person other than
• your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no family members, or
• your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has dependent children who have no dependent children of their own, or
• your child who has no children of his or her own,
you must prove that you have an annual income that is at least equal to the minimum necessary income to support the group of persons consisting of

All you need to do is convince CIC that you won't require social assistance.
