Inadmissibility of medical exam

Hello. I am recently diagnosed with a cancer and I am getting my treatment in Ontario under OHIP coverage. The main applicant is my husband and he is on work permit, while I am on study permit. My question is that whether IRCC already is aware of my situation or not? And do I need to mention it in my medical exam? Does is cause to any inadmissibility of our PR application?

I am sorry to hear that you have cancer. Yes you are required to mention your cancer diagnosis and treatment. If you don’t you can be banned from Canada for up to 5 years for misrepresentation because IRCC has access to billing records so will be aware that you are receiving cancer treatment. You likely want to come to your medical prepared with a letter from your oncologist about your diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. The cost of your treatment will determine whether your family will be denied PR because of excessive mefical costs. I would suggest hiring a lawyer if you receive a procedural fairness letter which would mean that IRCC is getting ready to deny your family’s application.

Are you currently studying? Why aren’t you on UHIP if you are studying? Were you the primary applicant? Does your husband have a WP because you are studying? Are you currently studying? When did you studies start and when are they scheduled to end? When does your OHIP expire?
