Hello Guys,

I am in a confused situation.

Our VO is New Delhi, Our file is "in process" since march 9th, but have not got the PPR yet, unlike many others here, PPR comes right after the file going "in process" or PPR even comes before this status.

My husband's passport is expiring end of october. Considering they do not issue visa on a passport that is not valid for atleast six months and cic sometimes keeps passports for months! , should we renew it? or shall we just wait? they might ask for our passport and stamp the visa!

It is heard that once you have a new passport there are more checks to verify the new passport, and it delays the process, we still have a month more.

Anyone have any idea? Any help or advice would be appreciated!!

I would certainly recommend it, but how long would it take you to do so? We knew we could renew it in 3 weeks... so we DID!

Yes you should renew your passport now since your only in step 1 of the process. So that you dont have any worries in the near future about your passport getting visa because its going to expire soon and will cause you delays. After getting your new passport you should email the canadian embassy in your country informing them of your new passport using your file number as subject title and add let's say new passport. Explain to them about your concern why you renew your passport and if possible put all the details of your old and new passport in your email. Goodluck!:)

Renew it while waiting.... :) It will cause you more hassle once you used you submitted your OLD passport.
