Hello. Do anyone knows Why my Ecas status change to In Process but no Passport request? I read here that it usually passport request before Ecas change to In Process. CIC still not contacting me. My application sent on October2014. Thank you for any advise.

In process simply means that they have started to work on your application. Sometime during the process they may ask for your passport but that depends on the Visa office and is not universal. There is no need to worry: if they need your passport they will ask for it.

In August, CIC updated thousands of peoples status to in process

As shortyp2000 mentioned, a lot of people went IP and interesting newer applicants as well. So July/Aug 2015 applications are getting IP from the time AOR2 is received suggesting that they have changed their process so you go IP after getting AOR2. Older applications such as hours have got IP with the AOR2 date as well which wasnt the case earlier.

I meant to ask if we have some numbers from CIC about how many people went to IP in august. Clearly there is a lot of confusion about whole ip status thing on the forum.

So it does look like they have changed their system to give IP after AOR2. Apologies to OP for hijacking the thread :)

updated my timeline.

I am a December 2014 applicant, and my eCas changed to IP approx Aug 15th. Some changed to IP August 6th. They did it in batches. The links mentioned in a post above may give more info.
When mine changed in August, it did not have the date that it started processing, but now it does. Not sure what date exactly it changed as I dont check eCas often. My VO used to only change to in process after PPR request but now it looks like a big change in CIC to be like AOR/2

It is funny because we are complaining for not getting any PPR although we our file is IP.

In above link, people are complaining for not getting PPR although their status is DM

:)

If true that it is an effect to many applications , might there be no good news at all then.

Thats right, so what we all thought was good news, actually is not news at all
