Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can give me ANY advice on what I could do next. I've been in Canada for over 2 years - I'm originally from england and I came here on a 1 year open work permit. I got a job as a host in a restaurant. At the end of the year they promoted me to a Server - a position I kept for a year.
This year, when my LMO came up for renewal they said due to the recession the only way I could stay in the country was to take a job as a host again. I did this but now I'm in limbo with my job, my LMO and with my options regarding PR.
The company I'm with would like to promote me to a door supervisor but can't due to my LMO. I can't apply for PR because I don't qualify because my job isn't classed as Skilled. I'm in a total catch 22 situation and I have run out of things I can do.
All I want to do is stay in the county. I would love to stay at my work and I would like to become a supervisor. Is there ANYTHING I could do to change my situation. Everyone I talk to doesn't seem to have any answers...
