I didn't think it mattered but now that i think about it, i think it might. for my personal history it says to account for all time periods, I was still employed but i did travel to canada and was there for about 3 months, and when i came back i continued working. should i write employed for XXX from XX to XX then put visiting in Canada XX til XX and then put the employer again? or leave out the visiting?

I would include the 3 months in Canada.
I think 3 months is a significant amount of time. Plus you will probably want to acknowledge any time spent in canada as it all helps with the assessment of your relationship.
This is what I would do. I don't know if thats right or wrong.
Good luck!

does the 2 seperate weeks i spent up there with my spouse need to be listed there as it is already listed on other parts of the application?

Hmmm I would say no.
2 weeks sounds more like a vacation so I dont think you need to mention that, I think its more substantial blocks of time.
This is just my opinion though!! This is what I did.

I agree. Short - i.e., normal-length - vacations don't have to be listed on the personal history form. But I would include some mention of a three-month break. If you just had a leave of absence from your job, you could simply note the 3-month period on an attached sheet of paper.

Hi kourts, account for the three months. I missed a three month gap on mine and I got a letter from CIC requesting me to account for it. It has delayed my application.
