My mom has an implied status (visitors visa) as of right now because we want to extend her stay in Canada. Her multiple visit visa will expire on October 2017 and its on her old passport as she has newly renewed passport last January 2017. Is there any problem if we go to the United States. She should be able to return back to Canada because still has that Canadian multiple visitors visa, am I right? What happened if she goes out of the country if immigration is still processing her extension of stat in Canada.

Possible scenarios:

1) She is refused entry.
2) She is given a short period in Canada (weeks) so she can leave Canada.
3) Her implied status is honored and she can return under her first admission.
4) She is given a new visitor status for up to 6 months.

Any of those can happen.
