Hello,

My PGWP is expiring on March 30 and I applied for my residency in August 2012. I have applied for the bridged open work permit just today. If my PGWP expires during the processing of my bridged open work permit, will I be under implied status which allows me to continue working while my work permit application is being processed?

Thanks!

yes exactly, you will be under implied status and continue working legally until you get your new open work permit. we are in the same boat actually i have applied recently for this new Bridging open work permit, i was told that it takes 3 months processing.

Hi,
Can we change employer under implied status? also, i think processing time for BOWP is same as WP which is around 62 days as of now.

Please comment

Implied status allows you to work under the terms of the old (expired) work permit. If it was an open work permit, you can change. If it was a closed work permit, you cannot - you'll have to wait until you get the new work permit.

Processing times are different for paper-based vs. online applications - online are faster.

Hi guys,

Under implied status as waiting for the open work permit, are we allowed to do the medicals for pr application.

Please respond seniors.

Thanks.
